What is the APP?
The Association of Professional Piercers is a California-based, international non-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination of vital health and safety information about body piercing to piercers, health care professionals, legislators, and the general public.
The APP helps piercers meet minimum requirements that do not exist in many provinces or states. These requirements include jewelry quality, blood born pathogen training, first aid and knowledge of sterilization. If you want to learn more please visit their site Safepiercing.org
Why do we charge more for piercings?
We deal with this question on a daily basis. We are aware that our piercings are more expensive than most studios. The reason our jewelry costs more is because it is handmade in North America and meets international standards for implant quality. As well our threading is internally threaded, that means the threading is on the bead not the bar, this is the difference between a smooth transition of jewelry versus the painful insertion of threading going into a new piercing.
The image below will also show the finish on our jewelry compared to mass produced jewelry made overseas.
